FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: MARCH 25, 2014

Sterling, VA – Britani Kessler, a fourth-year medical student at Nova Southeastern University College of Osteopathic Medicine, will begin her term as National President of the American Medical Student Association (AMSA) on May 1, 2014. Kessler will work full-time at AMSA’s national office in Sterling, Virginia, where she will chair the Board of Trustees, represent more than 40,000 physicians-in-training, maintain alliances with other organizations, and visit AMSA chapters across the country. She previously served as President-Elect.

“AMSA is an incredible organization that fosters a strong community of future physicians through education and advocacy,” says Kessler. “I am honored and excited to take on the role of national president and will focus on medical student debt and AMSA’s Just Medicine campaign. I look forward to working with AMSA members nationwide and empowering them to recognize their influence within the medical community. Medicine is constantly evolving, and our members must stay informed and engaged. As the next generation of physicians, we understand the need for change, and I am confident that through AMSA’s outstanding programs and dedicated leadership, we will achieve significant progress in the coming year.”
